6.5 Million Pounds Of Ground Beef Recalled

Recalled Ground Beef May Be Contaminated With Salmonella

After 57 cases of salmonella was reported in 16 US states between August 5th and September 6th, Arizona-based JBS Tolleson, Inc. has recalled over 6.5 Million pounds of Ground Beef this last Thursday.

Health officials identified JBS as the common root source of the reported salmonella illnesses. Sources reveal the recalled beef was packaged between July 26th and September 7, 2018.  The recalled product was sold under nationwide brands at Walmart, Cedar River Farms Natural Beef, Showcase/Walmart and JBS Generic.

The easiest way to check is to look for the USDA inspection mark on the packaging.  It will contain the establishment number “EST. 267.”

I personally shop here at the Murrieta Sam’s Club and recently purchased some ground beef.  I checked the recently purchased product that was in my freezer today and sure enough I purchased beef with “EST. 267.” on it. Spread the word and don’t forget to check your freezer.
