[dropcap]A[/dropcap] Murrieta infrastructure deal that could help the city by bringing in Costco, was approved this week by the Murrieta City Council.
“Yeah,” enthused Mayor Jonathan Ingram following the unanimous vote. “Let’s get Costco.”
The proposed shopping center is currently planned for land at the northeast corner of the I-215, Clinton Keith Road interchange, right across the street from Bronco Stadium also known as Vista Murrieta High School.
The next meeting is on Feb. 20. The council may take up a second infrastructure deal related to the project, which the city is pursuing due to the amount of sales tax revenue a Costco warehouse generates.
Costco would not respond to any additional information, however advised that it doesn’t comment on future warehouses until it updates its website with news of a pending opening.
This is good news for Murrieta, the tax revenue for the city would be advantageous in many ways.
