Lake Elsinore Resident Trespasser Leads to Arrest In Wildomar

On May 21, 2018, at approximately 11:26 A.M., officers from the Wildomar Police Department, responded to the report of trespassing in a vacant lot near Inland Valley Drive and Clinton Keith Road, in the City of Wildomar.

Officers arrived and spoke to numerous suspects trespassing on the vacant lot.  As officers attempted to contact all individuals on the lot, one suspect attempted to flee the scene in a stolen vehicle, but was ultimately arrested.  In addition to the being in possession of the stolen vehicle, he was also in possession of a loaded firearm.

The suspect, identified as Carlos Zuniga, 34, a resident of Lake Elsinore, was arrested and subsequently booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, evading arrest, and for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.  During the booking process, it was discovered that Zuniga attempted to smuggle heroin into the jail.  Anyone with additional information is urged to call Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300.
