Project99.org continues to find ways to bring suicide out of the dark. A 5k run is set to kick off December here in Murrieta.
Project 99’s mission is to educate teens and the community about the negative consequences of suicide and to show students how one choice can devastate an entire community.
Their panel of speakers discusses the topics of how suicide directly affects one’s family and community, resources available to those affected, other ways of coping and releasing negative emotions, and reassures students that they are not alone in their time of distress.
Project 99 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness to and preventing suicide across the nation.
Founded in honor of Diego Villarreal, a 16-year-old student athlete at Murrieta Valley High School who passed away in August of 2015 as a result of suicide, Project 99 provides students at local high schools and middle schools with informational suicide awareness talks and prevention campaigns.
Project 99 has encouraged large numbers of students across the state to speak up and has helped many to realize that they matter.
Come on out and support this fantastic cause. Please see below for details.
