What do you get when you cross a Cuban and an Italian? Exquisite cuisine is what you get! The Staff here at French Valley Press has been on a quest for a perfect Cubano Sandwich, and that is exactly what we got at Sposito’s Cuban & Italian Cuisine in Temecula. The service from the get-go was great and the owners Claudio and Yohanka make you feel at home right away. But let’s get back to the mix of Cuban and Italian food in the same joint. No way… Way! It turns out Claudio is a Master Chef from Italy with an education in Culinary Arts, and Yohanka has been an ambassador of Cuban food and culture since she can remember. Sposito’s offers the best of both worlds, ranging from Caprese salad to Ropa vieja and from the authentic Cuban sandwich to Pasta dishes and delicious pastries. Most of their best recipes come from their families’ tradition, so you can experience a culinary tour of Italy, Cuba or both at the same time. So the end result of the Cubano Sandwich? Absolutely fantastic! The flavor of the meat was superb and coupled with the in-house made bread really topped it off. So regardless of if you’re in French Valley or the surrounding areas, you’re close enough to try this place out. We’ll be back for dinner next time!
